TJBintheOC 104 Posted November 3, 2015 I am almost five months out and have lost 52lbs. I've noticed when I rub my body I feel lumps/balls/peas under my skin on my trunk and inner thighs. When I noticed a few on my ribs, I found a few posts on the internet and I think what I have are called lipomas...little fat balls that form when you lose weight rapidly. They don't hurt and you can't see them. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed these??
lkt997 4 Posted November 3, 2015 Yup, I have them and didn't think much about them. I'm making the assumption that they'll eventually go away.

heather5565 959 Posted November 4, 2015 They most likely won't go away :/ If any of them are causing you discomfort you can get them removed. It is considered cosmetic though. If any of them concern you, have grown in size, hurt, or change shapes - definitely get it checked out. Years ago when I had lost a lot of weight (one of many times) - I found a "lump" in my breast and ended up getting an urgent mammogram. It was just a fatty lump, I felt kinda dumb but better be save than sorry!.
AvaFern 3,516 Posted November 4, 2015 Yep, sounds like lipomas. Depending upon their location, they could also be palpable lymph nodes. Unlikely, but if you look at a lymph node map on google and compare where you feel the lumps, you can make sure. I had lots of those lovely lipoma lumps in my breast tissue before I had plastics, although I also had one under my arm that ended up being a swollen lymph node (the node didn't like my new deodorant, nothing serious), but ever since I've been careful to make sure my random little bumps are not lymph nodes.
