really depends on how far out you are, you might not tolerate much. Something soft might work for you.

I don't have a clue.

Still fighting with the Protein shake phase of things.

I picked up some brisket sandwiches from Arby's for my family this afternoon. Prior to that I went through the drive-through at Chic-Fil-A to get a gallon of their Diet Lemonade for myself. They were advertising a tortilla Soup that I'm gonna jump all over when I reach that point in my diet. I usually don't give a rip about soup.......but this stuff looked killer.

You said no soup........hhhhhmmmmmm............carry out.........hhhmmmmm.........I can't think that far ahead......maybe Taco Bell. They have a few different types of Beans that look good to me. Wendy's chili is always good, too.

It's an interesting question. I'll be glad when I can give it some field testing. :D

I get egg foo young, no rice and sauce on the side. The rice is all carbs and a slider food. In fact I could have a meal of just rice and gravy, but there's almost no Protein in that. Just fat and carbs. So I have the patty and just dip enough of the gravy over it to get the taste.

Italian food I once ordered stuffed shells, scooped the filling out and tossed the shells.

Heck yes. Their new tortilla soup has my name all over it. No kidding......I think that may very well where I go for lunch once my surgeon gives me the green light for it.

Their grilled chicken bites are insanely tasty, too.

Their Diet Lemonade is some of the best stuff I've ever drank in my life. They tease me with the ingredients list: Water, lemons and Splenda. So simple it drives me bonkers.....I gotta know the ratios of each, but they won't tell. Stuff is killer.

Sounds like a strategy I'll adopt, too. They'll laugh their butts off at me a the local Italian spot we like. Watching me sift through the plate and leaving all the carbs. "Getoutaheeya....the nerve on dis guy not eating our food".

That being said, they do a grilled porkchop an make some mean meatballs. I can see this spot working out just fine with me. :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
