Waist trainers post plastics

Recommended Posts

Ask your surgeon

You will wear compression garments post op but waist training is way more extreme. The extent of my knowledge is someone in a private FB group I am in was committed to waist training and has in fact had post plastics complications. My sample of one tells me not such a great idea.

I've seen the commercial for those things many times. It's the name, "...trainer," that gets me. It smacks of "Story of O."

Also Barbie's "natural-born" shape during her earlier days, although I don't quite see the difference since she was supposedly redesigned not to give little girls distorted ideas of women's bodies.

I'll omit my opinion on the aesthetics, as it's just mine.

I'm not sure about a waist trainer.Did you have surgery yet? You may find that after surgery and you heal, that you might not feel the need to use one because you will have the shape you are looking for.

I did wear an ab binder for several months post op - probably 5 months. My surgeon told me the longer I can put up with wearing it, the better the results. For several months I couldn't imagine going without it because it just gave me more support. I've considered a waist trainer now that I'm a bit further out, but honestly, with the Lipo on my waist that he did with the TT I don't really think there is much of a need for it. You can see the nice curves he gave me in my blog (linked below) if you're interested. He did an awesome job. :-)

Yes ive had a full body lift. And i do use spankx and my binder depends on the clothing i wear. But i was just wondering.

Ahh...I see.

Not sure if you all realize but waist training is severe and actually changes your shape internally...this isn't about smooshing skin. This is what tranny guys do, it is what Victorian era rich women did. I encourage you to really research this. Compression garments are great, but this is a big step.

That's right ... people who sell waist trainers will NOT post anything bad about them.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
