Down 25lbs in 4 months

Recommended Posts

I'm down 25 lbs since surgery, Tomorrow will be 4 mths out had the sleeve. I'm pretty happy with my progress; I feel at times it is a little slow. I've hit two stalls so far and I do a lot of Cardio 5 days a week with some weights here and there.

I see other peoples progress that has the same bmi as me and they are loosing much faster. I'm 155 so 10 more lbs I'll be officially at a normal weight, I cant wait for this to happen, back in my mind I feel that I wont get there or I might get there in another 6 mths. Maybe I'm being a little hard on my self but at times it is very hard not to be.

It's very simple. The more you have to lose, the quicker the loss. The less you have to lose, the slower the loss. You started at a weight that is some people's goal weight. Very rare to be under 200 pounds for this procedure, so considering that, you are doing quite remarkably! Keep plugging away, follow your plan, and you'll get there. The last bit of weight is always the hardest to get off. You'll get there.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
