I've always had trouble wearing heels (yes, I know they aren't great for your feet), but I've always been overweight to some extent...

I'm wondering who had trouble with heels at a high weight, but can wear them now that they have lost the weight?

I don't know if the problem is my weight, or my feet, or both, but I'd love to have some hope that I can occasionally wear heels once I'm at a healthy weight.

Thanks!!

I was a heel gal in my 20's. I could walk blocks with 4 inch & 5 heels. As my weight went up, my heels went down. 114lb down and I am back to wearing heels & wedges. I stay in the 2 -3 inch range due to arthritic knees, but I can wear them comfortably.

I COULD ABSOLUTELY NOT WEAR HEELS AT OVER 300 LBS. NOW I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ACTUAL HIGH HIGH HEELS OR STILETTOS HA, BUT I AM ABLE TO WEAR HEELS NOW AT 188. YOU'LL SURELY BE ABLE TO!

I've never been a high heel person.. I do think that my weight previously put me off them... now that I'm down a bit, I think I'm just too old to start wearing them - :( (I'm 46)

I love heels. However over the last few years I've developed significant hip pain. The hip pain always got worse when I wore heels for for short periods of time so I've stopped wearing them completely. I would like to be able to wear them again and am anxious to discover if I will be able to or not.

Wearing heels was one of my dream list items. I've lost 72 pounds, weigh 153, and I wear heels every day now! Walking may not be that easy in them but I can certainly fit in them and be comfortable. Good luck, it's great!

I wear 4-5 inch heels. I could do it when I was at 370, but I couldn't wear them as long, certainly couldn't last all day.

Now I can wear my heels all day/evening. My wedge sneakers are more comfortable. Everything is just less stress.

It doesn't matter what your weight is, if you can't get used to walking on the balls of your feet, heels are always going to hurt.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
