I am still on the full liquid diet and I'm getting tired of the Protein Shakes already. I tried some Greek yogurt with Protein Powder mixed in earlier today and it didn't settle well on my tummy. Anyone have any suggestions on different things I could try? I love savory foods and all the sweets are becoming a little much for me.

Unflavored Protein powder added to a clear Soup or broth. Puree chicken, beef or Beans, strain then thin with broth, add protein powder.

If you have the energy to make your own broth or someone can make some for you, even better.

I may try some pureed cabbage today. Having some horrible Constipation and this usually gets me going. And it's a better alternative to the milk of magnesia.

You mix it into Water that's now hotter than 160 degrees to keep it from clumping up badly.

I add a small amount of Mrs Dash and it's really good. It's a nice break from the Protein shakes. I've been doing the shakes for 2 weeks prior to surgery and 3 weeks afterwards......trust me....this soup is a nice change.

I didnt know puree food was ok for liquid diet. Unless yall are talking about post op. I am talking about preop and from my understanding these are totally diff types of diet?? I love these forums cus it gives me more questions to ask my doctor and nut.

From what I understand liquids post op do not include pureed foods. I can't wait until I can start adding some pureed foods!

unjury chicken Soup is NASTY!!! Tried one sip and the package went right back to them.

I was really hoping it was going to be good. I'm glad those who like it are able to benefit from it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
