Kiba 47 Posted November 2, 2015 Been having some odd symptoms this past month and it resulted to be blacking out and ending up in the hospital. I guess I've slowly developed hypoglycemia, which I didn't realize is quite common for VSG patients. I never had diabetes or was in danger of it prior to my surgery, fortunately, so I was a little surprised this came out of nowhere. Anyone else noticing this being an issue? Mine was the result of over activeness without proper fuel/food, which makes sense considering how little we eat now; I suppose my old habits of working myself to the bone just need to break now. able2cope 193 Posted November 2, 2015 Sorry you are going through this - I get hypos quite regularly, but am diabetic - although off all meds now. I had the sleeve 3 years ago now - I would have thought things would have evened themselves out, but as you say, we eat so little now, it isn't surprising really. akreese02 174 Posted November 3, 2015 I suffered from hypoglycemia prior to surgery which was a large part of why I couldn't lose weight. If I did anything physically active, I could drop and then had to down sugar. I was so happy that the issue seemed to completely go away after surgery until about 3 months after surgery. Now I have to make sure I have had plenty of Protein prior to exercise and I'm fine.
