Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

It's here!.....surgery tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Today is the last day of my 2 week preop diet and on my scale, I've lost 14 pounds. Nerves have set in as I could hardly sleep last night looking at the clock. Last day of work and lots of loose ends to take care of. I feel I've been nesting and preparing foods for the family as well as have all of my items lined up. Thankfully I have a wonderful husband who will run to the store for me when needed and take care of the house and kids and everything in between. It's been a great 3 months, with definitely it's ups and downs, but now it's my time to shine. I will be on that losers bench tomorrow and I cannot wipe the smile off my face as I am beaming with excitement!????????. Thank you all for being my my side, with individual words of wisdom And tips that I am taking with me. I wish you all success and happiness as we all find ourselves again. Talk soon!!????

Great deal !!!!!

Cool thing about the Loser's Bench is that we claim our spot on it.........but we shrink and make room for others. :D

Best wishes on your surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
