sugar17 3 Posted November 2, 2015 I am only 1 week post op, but would love to know when ya'll were able to comfortably sleep on your side again? Really miss that.

magtart 603 Posted November 2, 2015 I think the 2nd or 3rd night I just arranged a pillow to prop myself up on my side. It worked out okay.
Sharon1964 2,530 Posted November 2, 2015 When I was waking up in recovery, on my back, I reached over, grabbed the bedrail, and pulled myself onto my side. It felt so much better than laying on my back. I've been sleeping on my side since the first night in the hospital.
PurpleJazz 13 Posted November 2, 2015 I have a 10 month old baby, and ever since I was pregnant, I have arranged this belly/leg prop thing. I never stopped doing it and now its really coming in handy. Pillow under belly, pillow between knees and something behind my back.... just sleep like a pregnant lady . lol
Gingerish 113 Posted November 2, 2015 After the first week I was on my side. Hugging a small pillow helped with the uncomfortable feeling from incision sites.
PamInWA 21 Posted November 2, 2015 I like to sleep fully on my side and not just propped up (though that helps), but it was a good 3 weeks before that really felt comfortable for me. Guess everyone is different depending on where exactly their incisions are, etc.
Ray92 91 Posted November 2, 2015 Pillow under the belly, one between the knees. I was able to sleep on the "other" side, i.e. the side opposite from where they removed the stomach. I was able to comfortably do that just past the week mark.
BarrySue 602 Posted November 2, 2015 I'll be honest, it remained too uncomfortable for me to sleep on my side for 8-10 weeks. For some reason I had too much pain/discomfort until then.
_Kate_ 2,224 Posted November 2, 2015 I am a side sleeper but had to wait until about week 3 before feeling comfortable to sleep on my side. First night was BLISS
Daisydawn34 41 Posted November 2, 2015 I'm 6 days post op I keep getting the strangest sensations shifting positions at night it feels like air is being sucked out of me and organs are moving around. It's gross
Kindle 8,667 Posted November 2, 2015 Slept on either side starting the first night. I just pinned the drain to the front of my jammies so I wouldn't roll on it. Took 3 weeks before I could sleep on my stomach because I was so bloated.
lauraellen80 855 Posted November 2, 2015 I slept on a recliner in my living room for the first couple weeks because I couldn't comfortably sleep in my bed, even propping myself up with pillows. It might have partly been that I have an old-fashioned Iron bed that doesn't have a solid headboard. But after that, I was back to sleeping on my side. purz59 57 Posted November 2, 2015 I'm 3 days out, and managed to roll over on my side for a few minutes... Prop yourself with a pillow as you roll over.
downsizingdiva 459 Posted November 3, 2015 I THINK IT WAS LESS THAN A MONTH BEFORE I QUIT HAVING THE PULLING/BURNING SENSATION WHILE LAYING ON MY SIDE.
