longjohs 11 Posted November 4, 2015 I was able to sleep on my side the first night, but I also wore a Spanx type cami that gave my tummy support. Don't be surprised when the inside of your knees start aching from laying on each other as you lose the weight. I was so confused about this weird pain on the inside of my knees, then realized...they had never touched when I was heavier, now they do!!!
purz59 57 Posted November 6, 2015 Slept on my side almost all night last night at one week out, with a little help of my xanax...
Slim-Shady 79 Posted November 8, 2015 It took me about two weeks before I was able to sleep in my bed, and on my side (I put a pillow under my tummy as well --I tried to sleep in my bed the first night, and couldn't). I slept on my sofa with an ottoman to prop my feet up, and I was able to lean slightly over to the side.
Jazziminna 95 Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) I'm another side sleeper. Woke up in recovery on my back. It really hurt and was soooo uncomfortable. Flipped onto my side... instant relief. Edited November 9, 2015 by Jazziminna
M!@ 320 Posted November 9, 2015 OMG! I was just thinking about this as I laid on my side hugging my pillow last night. My surgery is Friday and I kept waking up with the thought of how long it would be. Love the suggestions!
AllisonK1986 68 Posted November 11, 2015 I'm a tummy sleeper and my nurse is going to give me a tummy binder since their afraid I'll roll over on my belly at night.
Lacatrina 1 Posted November 12, 2015 I slept in a recliner for the first 3 weeks and then moved back to bed. I am a side sleeper and that seemed to be the right time for me. I had some aches and pains (hips & back) sleeping on my side at first from the weight loss too. It eventually goes away.
