BamaNurse 16 Posted November 2, 2015 I had my surgery on the 28th as well. Still using a medicine cup to sip my Water. I think it helps me get more in. I can't handle more than 2 oz at a time. I am so tired of the Protein Shakes. I am like you. It takes me an hour and a half to get it all down. I have been doing strained cream Soups mixed with Protein Powder. I had an umbilical hernia repair at the same time and have had some pain with it but have had to keep walking. Sometimes I feel like all I do is sip and burp lol. usedtobeaskater 58 Posted November 2, 2015 This site is THE BEST! You all are AMAZING! Drinking the drinks is getting easier. Out walking twice a day! Having some pain but not enough to take meds! Headache is mostly in my neck. Thinking I want to see my chiropractor when he is back in on Wednesday to fix this "pain in my neck" Thank you all for your advice and I look forward to more chats during this momentous time of my life! Cody Harmon 10 Posted November 2, 2015 i had surgery 10/26. For me, the time it takes to get my Protein drink down is very very similar. Same for Water. It's a slow process but its the old saying, slow and steady wins the race. Keep sipping. A healthy amount to aim for is 1 oz every 15 minutes at first. Later you can get in 2 oz every 15 minutes or whatever works for you. I started at 1 oz and I'm doing better now, getting closer to 2-3oz. Just depends on the day. Remember, this early in the game our stomachs are swollen and sore and mad as hell. Treat them well and be kind, they've really taken a beating.

lorri716 256 Posted November 9, 2015 Usedtobeaskater, the pain in your neck may just be some of the gas still working it's way out of your body. I had some stuck in my shoulder for about two days. Just a thought
