MrsYoungblood 15 Posted October 31, 2015 I am starting my pre op phase. I know not to have red dye but my husband asked if purple was ok...grape crystal light. Anyone? Yes? No? Maybe so?
Ashlegal 525 Posted October 31, 2015 I don't personally drink Crystal Light but I know several people who have had WLS and drink all varieties. I have never heard of there being a dye restriction and because of that, I'd stay away from all flavors. Here is what I have been drinking pre-op and post-op. It may give you a few ideas! Sobe Lifewater: http://www.sobe.com/#!/product/index/category/4 All flavors are great but the Fuji Apple Pear is AWESOME! Hint Water: https://www.drinkhint.com/#?offset=0&limit=40 I have stayed away from the "fizz" variety but the cucumber, peach, blood orange, watermelon and lemon-cayenne are yummy. axlr8n 161 Posted October 31, 2015 The dye restrictions are only for the day or two before surgery because it looks like blood when doing the surgery if there is any residual Fluid. I would stay away from purple as it's a combination of red and blue.

TMG1980TMG 136 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) I had no dye restrictions-- I had red Jello the day after surgery in the hospital-- this is the first I have heard of this--- I am always so surprised by the different pre/post op instructions! Of course follow your pre-op instructions. ???? Edited October 31, 2015 by TMG1980TMG
