BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted October 31, 2015 I received a copy of the approval letter from my insurance company. Ask the surgeon if they have sent in the request. You can then follow up with your insurance company as to approval status. However I would be extremely leery of any practice that has poor communication pre op. What happens post op when you have questions or concerns?
Mom26 313 Posted October 31, 2015 With an 11/12 surgery date, you should be getting ready for pre-op testing. I would call the insurance company. I did get something from BCBS approving my surgery date before the doctor gave me the date. Make sure you open everything from your insurance company. Mine looked like one of the typical explanation of benefits pages and I almost didn't see it. Good luck. I'm getting sleeved on 11/9.
NJE123 6 Posted October 31, 2015 Thx guys! I mistyped because I was tired and had a long day- lol! My date is the 16th. And I've had wonderful communication on my program, just wasn't sure if I should be looking in the mail for approval or of I'll hear from office!
The Candidate 3,215 Posted October 31, 2015 I got an email first, and then the letter second. We get notifications when they've sent a new email from their app. That was the alert I chose, otherwise it would have been a call first. Good luck!
