So I'm currently on day 3 of my liquid diet.... I have no interest for the Protein Shakes, the ones that I have are disgusting! Any suggestion? I do love the Soup, and the sugar free Jello, and the sugar free Water. But I need protein..... November 10, isn't coming fast enough for me :-( All suggestions are welcomed.

I too am one day 3 of the diet and struggling. I'm drinking the EAS premixed shakes and then mixing some powder my husband has with almond milk. It's going to be a long 12 days , but we can do. The 10th will be here before we know it.

I don't mind the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate mixed with almond milk and PB2. The Premier Protein tastes like Yoohoo to me, so I can tolerate that as well. Unjury also has a chicken Soup Protein Powder. Tastes like Ramen broth. Salty - but decent. My surgery is 11/9. We're so close!!!

My fave Protein Drink is Pure Protein. It is pre-made in a can. Has 35g protein and all the flavors are good but my fave is Cookies and Cream. The Vitamin Shoppe and GNC sell it. You can get it online and I think Sam's has it. After surgery the Protein Drinks are a must. It is the only way to get your protein in the beginning. Also load up on sugar free Popsicles. Walmart sells them. Enjoy the journey. It will change your life! If you can attend support groups before surgery, do so! You will learn some great tips and get local support from people that are ahead if you on this journey.

Received the unjury chicken Soup flavor Thursday afternoon and put it to immediate use for dinner.

What I can say here without getting banned is DISGUSTING!!!! As I tried it there were a few 4 letter words.

It also smells unappealing as well. I emailed them and they're allowing me to return it to them for a refund. The WORST tasting powder I have tried. I frankly don't know how anyone likes this chicken stuff.

I couldn't even get it down when i tried to tolerate it. I ended up throwing it all away after nearly throwing up. Good luck!!!!!

I think it tastes like Ramen - you know, that fake flavor. I find it tolerable. Not sure how I'll feel after surgery

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
