I'm 7 weeks post op and every night I wake up to horrible pain in my left hip. If I lay on my right side it hurts and I roll over and it's okay. It will wake me up from a dead sleep. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've never experienced this and can't imagine what would cause it. I hope you get some answers.

I get it-but mine is from sleeping on that hip. Bursitis. The thing that helps mine the most is going to the chiropractor. Yours sounds a bit different, but could be less cushion in that area? Mine will hurt badly too when I am not laying on it.

I am 3 weeks out and have awful hip pain and have been woken up by it also, I can't figure it out and I am getting ready to go back to work in a week and I can only stand or walk for about 3 hours, I work 12 hour shifts as a nurse and I am not sure what I am going to do.

I think I'm going to call my dr Monday and see what they may think it is. It started with me at about 3 weeks out. Woke me up from a dead sleep in horrible pain. I moved and it went away. It is weird.

As a nurse things like this piss me off when I don't know what's wrong or how to treat the symptoms.

This all started with my right hip now only in left.

I might call the doc Monday also

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
