SanDiegoSue 14 Posted June 20, 2005 to newlapper, I was in TJ last week for fill. One patient in the lobby said to eat Breakfast if you have an afternoon fill. She always gets better restriction if she has used her esophagus and poach a few hours prior to a fill.
Penni60 45 Posted June 20, 2005 This seems a bit harsh on the esophagus if you ask me. When we get a fill the stomach doesn't like it and neither does the esophagus. That is why you are supposed to be on liquids for 24 to 48 hours (depending on the surgeon) after a fill. You need to give your stomach and esophagus time to adjust to the assault of a fill. I personally do not want to eat prior to a fill. I don't want any food to be in my pouch before I make it smaller. OUCH!! Talk about a PB!! Just my humble opinion! Robin2463 0 Posted August 16, 2005 Just got back from my first fill in TJ and got 2.2cc and hope to now start seeing a difference. Dr. Martinez was wonderful and so patient with me. I drove that poor man nuts. Start solids tomorrow, wish me luck.

Guest crazygirl20 Posted November 16, 2005 I thought fills are included in the price of the surgery. Has anybody stop getting fill and gained their weight back.
makena2 0 Posted November 28, 2005 I'm scheduled for my first fill on Thursday of this week (Dec 1) and I CAN'T WAIT. I've been banded for a month now and can eat anything and everything. I'm SO looking forward to my fill to start getting some restriction. Thankfully, I'm staying right where I am at 185, but know that if this keeps up, I'll be right back up again. Dear Makena, How did your fill go. I am at the same weight and do not have an appt until 1st week in Jan, had band Nov 22. I also do not have any problem with consumption, do not feel full. I am hovering at 187, and aren't budging. Checking on how the fill went and if you are doing well. Debra

Debra Debra - my fill was fine, however I don't feel like the restriction I have is the "sweet spot". I'm still able to eat WAY more than I should. I'm hovering around 84 right now and am kinda frustrated by it. I'm giving it another week to see if it restricts any more, then going back to fill up again. I think for us "lesser" BMI girls, it's harder to see progress because our goal isn't so far away (although it seems that way). I'm trying to stay syched up.
