OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted October 29, 2015 What are your tricks to remember or to motivate yourself to eat?
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted October 29, 2015 I fill out my food log first thing every morning with a projected list of what I will eat. I know 1 person in real life who had a bypass years ago. She never followed doctor's orders and not only regained but has no teeth and break bones frequently because of nor getting the proper diet or supplements. Even on days when I am not hungry I will drink a shake because I am determined to hit Protein goals each and every day. Also skipping meals was one of the bad food habits I had years ago. Part of maintaining good habits for me is eating a minimum of 3 meals a day so I just make it a point to do so.
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted October 29, 2015 Bottom line -- at 14+ months post-op, I get hungry. Sorry you're having trouble with that. I also eat at (mostly) the same times every day -- lunch at noon, dinner at 5:00 pm. Breakfast schedule is a little loosey-goosey. Mid-morning snack around 10:00, and after-dinner dessert (usually yogurt) around 6:00 pm.
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted October 29, 2015 I meet my Protein goals every day and I take all my Vitamins. I'm trying to keep the pretty I have. So I'm not starving myself by any means. Lately I have been busy and I have to supplement with Protein shakes at the end of the day. I don't have a set schedule and I am rarely around people that are eating. My apps reminds me to log my food and that helps some days, but I lately I just don't care about food. I get really into work and don't eat, this is something I did before and I don't want to go down that road again.
