I'll do it with y'all :) but I'll have to start tomorrow, so I'll be a day behind! With my band unfilled... I've gained a little bit this last month, so my nutritionist wants me to try to lose it. I start back at the gym tonight after a month break :( a liquid diet would help me get back on track! :)

Re "free candy, " I would like to mention that it is a perfectly legitimate choice to throw candy in the garbage.

It does not need to be repurposed or saved or used in any ways.

I remember being on the pre-op diet for two weeks

@@Elode

i was one of "those" that was not required to do pre-op liquid diet

i said to myself i should do something like liquids prior to WLS

BUT- like many others - i had did a "food funeral" - gained 3 pound before surgery :o

past is past

that's why i'm excited to do this with other people

i know i will be successful

Ok! I stopped after school and got some goods! Now I just need my husband to show up with the shakes. As you can see I was serious about marking these gallon Water containers. I bought the glass mason jar because it's cute and easier to drink out of than the jug AND it's 32 oz's. I'm also very aware that it's a straw but I don't have any issues with the straw so my surgeon said its ok. :)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
