sarahbethemails 68 Posted October 27, 2015 I'm going to a party next weekend and I had my surgery 10/7 so I was wondering if meatballs are soft in sauce am I allowed them in the soft stage?? Also eggplant parm?? Wasn't sure about that either since its soft
reree6898 1,164 Posted October 27, 2015 I don't know if tolerances are different with by pass because I had sleeve but for me I can't eat meatballs still and I was sleeved almost a month ago. Also most meatballs have a good amount of breadcrumbs in them so you may want to be careful with the carbs because it may cause dumping with the bypass. sarahbethemails 68 Posted October 27, 2015 Do you make your own meatballs or do you eat them from like subway? I rather try it out first and I'm not too great at making them lol
Djmohr 6,965 Posted October 27, 2015 I would absolutely make my own and give it a try. Ground beef can be tricky in those first few months following bypass. Sometimes depending on the meatball, I still struggle. They need to be pretty soft or they hurt my chest.
reree6898 1,164 Posted October 27, 2015 I have tried both ways and just can't eat them right now.
Ashlegal 525 Posted October 27, 2015 1 pound ground beef1 pound ground pork½ cup almond flour½ cup grated Parmesan cheese⅓ cup Water1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes¾ teaspoon garlic powder¾ teaspoon salt½ teaspoon dried oregano½ teaspoon onion powder¼ teaspoon fresh black pepper I used the above recipe two nights ago and it was great! I did use ground beef but ground turkey would be an okay substitute. I froze the ones I wasn't intending on using right away. I enjoyed them over some zoodles! It definitely satisfied any "Italian food" craving I may have had.

Queenfreak 36 Posted November 11, 2015 I can't have fried meatballs so now i bake them in the oven. Once they come out I blot them of any grease before I add them to my sauce. Yum
