WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted October 26, 2015 Call your wife's surgeon right now. Because she has not had a bowel movement in such a long time, she may be told to go to the emergency room to save time. Make the telephone right now. This should not wait any longer. Saeed 1 Posted October 26, 2015 Many thanks for the prompt reply. Any idea why right now? I mean what is the medical urgency? Thanks again
PayItForward 207 Posted October 26, 2015 Many thanks for the prompt reply. Any idea why right now? I mean what is the medical urgency? Thanks again If it has really been 5 weeks since a bowel movement, your wife is in critical condition.
reree6898 1,164 Posted October 26, 2015 Going too long without a movement can cause a perforation in the bowl and cause sepsis which can be fatal.
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) @@Saeed -- Are you serious? I just noticed that you say her surgery was four weeks ago and that her last bowel movement was five weeks ago. Do you need to ask? Turn off the computer and pick up the phone. Your wife is in trouble or you're inventing this whole thing. I can't imagine a sane surgeon performing a weight-loss procedure on a patient whose last bowel movement was a week earlier. RyansGirl89 67 Posted October 26, 2015 My surgeon knew that I had not had a bowel movement for a week prior. I don't think that is alarming. However, I do believe that his wife must get in to see the Dr as soon as possible.
