So much this!

Would it help if I told you that what you're feeling is normal and that things will progressively get better and better over time? Because they will.

It's tough going early out. So many changes to deal with. But soon you'll hit your routine and and start really seeing the weight loss and things become normal again. It just takes time.

And do me a favor? Punch the next person in the face who says we all took the easy way out ;)

Try the vitamin patches and keep trying different brands of shakes. Youll make it!

The grocery shopping gets easier. I still buy some foods I don't eat i.e. bread, waffles, Cereal etc for my boys. I buy a lot of yogurt, cheese, almonds, occasional deli meat for myself. As far as dinners go, I can pretty well eat whatever meat I am cooking for my family, plus a bit of the veggies, I just skip the rice/pasta/potatoes.

I should add that I'm the one doing the shopping so I get to determine what comes into the house. chips and popcorn are allowed as they don't tempt me, but cake, tarts, chocolate/candy are forbidden!

I'm 4 months out

Don't worry about the future. It does no good and wastes energy. Start with the NOW. Just keep working on getting your Protein and fluids in the best you can and let yourself heal. Talk to your surgeon and NUT about what kind of foods you should be shopping for at this stage. This really is all so temporary. Soon going to the grocery store will be just another annoying chore you have to do, and you'll have a good idea about what you need to buy and prepare for meals at that point. Hang in there!

Thank you so much for your encouragement, i know my post come off as negative.but im a mental wreck..i havent even been able to work yet because of my anxiety. Out of all the things i thought abt being depressed about my decesion was the last thing that came to mind..it seems as if life will never be normal again..and im scared of developing deficiencies. .because i cant find a vitiman that works and the BA seems to be so expensive

@@anna9/15 Surgery date was Sept 25, probably right near yours? If the Vitamins are making you sick, I'd recommend the Patches. Certainly a better option than no vitamins. I've read in posts where blood tests are saying they are effective. Today is my one month surgiversary. Down 17 pounds.

9/15 was my date and ive lost a little over 30 which is a hell of alot in such a short period..idk if its stress or just the process..which is the cause for this extreme emotional battle

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
