Just made some yesterday

1 avocado

1 large Tomato

1 small red onion, or half a large

jalepeno

can of corn

fresh cilantro

packet of taco seasoning

i prefer my avocado diced instead of mushed but you can do either. Chop everything up and mix together with the lime juice and some taco seasoning. How much you use is up to your personal taste,

2 ripe avocados

1/2 cup chunky salsa

1 clove mashed garlic

a few dashes of hot sauce (optional)

1/4 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt

juice of one lemon

Mash avocados to preferred consistency, mix all ingredients and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

Any suggestions on something salty or crunchy to eat with guacamole? I love the stuff, but I haven't made any because I associate it so strongly with tortilla chips.

Hmmm... Maybe toasted turkey pepperoni "chips?" Or homemade cheese crisps? But dang, that's getting up there for fat content.

Bonus points for thinking of something that could get me enough Protein to call it a meal!

I eat it with a spoon with refried Beans, melted cheese, and some salsa.

Experiment. I haven't tried it but maybe you could eat it with eggs or something else.

I ate some with some celery and it wasn't bad, it had a satisfying crunch.

here is a recipe for some baked zucchini chips that could work well

Here is what I use for a typical batch of guacamole: 4 Haas avocados, cilantro, juice of 3 limes squeezed with pulp, 2 jalapeños (frenched & diced....no seeds or pith), 2 tomatoes, 1 sweet onion. Dice it all up and CAREFULLY add sea salt to taste. It can be ruined if overly salty.

I like it with Pork rinds, spicy or plain. They are great with other dips too and add protein!

Easy peasy!

Mashed avocados (hand mash w fork don't cheat with a food processor or anything)

About 1-2 tbs salsa per avocado

.5-1 Clove garlic per avocado

.25-.5 of a lime juiced per avocado

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
