Pain on left side by rib

My father in law is 6mths post op and has been experiencing pain on left side of rib. Has anyone ever experienced this.

No..just by left rib

Had had some pain In the rib area for a day and it was a gas, just not moving but I am only 11 days post op

6 months post op, a visit to the Dr seems like the best option.

One more thing to consider - did he have a hiatal hernia? When I have left pain on my left side it turned out it was from my hernia repair. That usually lessons as the time goes on but that might be the cause of it. have him check with his surgeon if it continues.
