BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted October 24, 2015 Halo Top taste like real ice cream. Artic Zero taste like a frozen Protein shake.
MzB 297 Posted October 24, 2015 Zoku slush and shake maker. You freeze the base and then put your Protein drink in it and stir for a bit. It then slowly freezes into a soft milk-ice treat. It is a little work, but since I should be eating slowly anyway it works out ok for me. Here is a link. http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=zoku+slush+and+shake&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=61713885564&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13483809381315725934&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=t&ref=pd_sl_225zmgx3iq_b

TristanNicole 169 Posted October 24, 2015 I've heard that Halo Top is the way to go, I have not tried it yet. I have tried Arctic Zero and honestly I wasn't crazy about any of the flavors, I tired cookie shake and cookie dough and was disappointed both times. I'm looking forward to giving halo top a try when I'm far enough out.
BigViffer 3,544 Posted October 24, 2015 I don't trust the "protein" ice creams and specially formulated deserts. I just use Fage yogurt with Torani sugar free Syrup for flavor and freeze it. More Protein than these ice creams.
4MRB4PHOTO 3,900 Posted October 24, 2015 Please save this as a treat. It was tested for nutritional value and came up with up to 68% more calories than what is printed on label. Hate to be the party pooper but this will probably cause a stall if you're still in the losing phase! Nevertheless I love exploring all these options that keep popping up!!! Here's a pic of the article: ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1445652659.460313.jpg Once in awhile as a treat is probably ok. It's hard to believe they can't accurately calculate the calories (or don't want to). Thanks for the info. I guess the only sure way to know it is low calorie, is to buy the container of ice cream, dump the ice cream out of the container into the garbage, rinse out the container and fill it with a salad. Haha. IF only it had the same taste/satisfaction! I would have been thin long ago ????
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted October 24, 2015 The comments have been about taste and, since that's got to be subjective, I was curious about the consistency and texture, expecting that it must have a vaguely gritty mouth-feel and be Gummy at the same time. The ingredients info at the Arctic Zero website suggests an unpleasant texture. If I'm not going to have the real thing, I'd rather have a nonfat yogurt. Chacun à son goût. BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted October 24, 2015 @@WLSResources/ClothingExch - Texture wise Artic Zero is not exactly gritty, but you know it's not ice cream. It honestly feels like a frozen Protein shake. I can't describe it any better than that. Halo Top on the other hand taste and feels exactly like ice cream. One of the main reasons why I have had it exactly once in the year I've been sleeved. It's that good. However, if you wanted ice cream for a celebration or something, I would strongly recommend Halo Top over Artic Zero.
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted October 24, 2015 @@BLERDgirl -- Oh, oh, oh, for a celebration? Like sitting home on Saturday night watching TV? The real thing all the way. For no occasion in particular? Like sitting home on Monday night watching TV? Then I'd go for a fat-free yogurt. There was a time I might have tried substitutes for many foods, but somehow I've come to ignore them. Thanks, though, really, for the recommendation. If I were to consider it, I have a feeling that your take on it is reliable.
MzB 297 Posted October 24, 2015 Just bought some halo top and I have to agree it is more like ice cream than Arctic. However, I like Protein Drinks so either one is fine with me for a craving fix. Special occasion, I will probably go for the real thing as a splurge. But obviously in limited quantities. Haha. Thanks again for the info on Halo Top. ???? dlappjr 467 Posted October 26, 2015 I have not tried the Arctic Zero. I have, however, found Blue Bunny makes a Low Fat, No Sugar Added Bunny Tracks. It only has 4g of sugar. Only as a treat, like every 3-4 days and only on nights before I workout the next morning (makes myself feel better about indulging). Other than that one, Bryers also makes a low fat, no sugar added strawberries and cream. http://www.bluebunny.com/Products/d/Sweet_Freedom_Ice_Cream_Bunny_Tracks
