Anyone else tried this yet? It is actually pretty good and the sugars and carbs are pretty low. post-250678-14456463412932_thumb.jpg post-250678-14456463517136_thumb.jpg

That it intriguing.

Please save this as a treat. It was tested for nutritional value and came up with up to 68% more calories than what is printed on label. Hate to be the party pooper but this will probably cause a stall if you're still in the losing phase! Nevertheless I love exploring all these options that keep popping up!!! Here's a pic of the article: post-262002-1445652660418_thumb.jpg

I got salted caramel and vanilla bean. I like the vanilla bean better of the two.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't going to taste just like ice cream. But that may be unrealistic to expect from something that is only 35 calories, no fat and limited carbs. It is more like a gelato that isn't quite as sweet. That being said, it is a great option for those of us who are on the Bariactric way of life. ????

They seem to address this article on their site, but like anything it is up to you what you eat. ????

Absolutely!!! And what works for one may not work for the other, no doubt about it!!! Just wanted to give a heads up, if it doesn't have any negatives please tell me so I can run out and buy that salted caramel ????

I would be concerned about the article as well and I appreciate you bring it up since I hadn't seen it. I hate to feel I am getting duped.

Just FYI, I thought the salted caramel was so so. The reviews on Amazon weren't wrong, it does taste probably a little more like a frozen Protein shake/drink if I think hard about it. But I have been using the syntax nectar cookie flavor frozen in a Zuko as an ice cream alternative and that is similar in taste and calories as well. I guess I don't really need it to be "real" ice cream as long as it gets me past the craving without mr going out and getting a bizarre. ????

Glad I read the whole thread, because I was just going to suggest Halo Top as tasting way better.

I haven't tried either, but I have Halo Top on my list if I ever get interested in ice cream.

You can really easily make your own low carb sugar free ice cream. I used to make it all the time and people can't tell the difference.

The strawberry ice cream recipe is really good from that site but it is in the cookbook and it is the one I have made.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
