BelievingBarb 2 Posted December 7, 2015 I had my surgery on Dec. 1st; the outcome was good though the surgery to 6 hours. I didn't have gas for the first two days. Trying to get in the Protein in. My sleep mask now makes my mouth so dry; so much so the roof of my mouth is very tender. Also, all but 3 of the 23 lbs I lost prior to surgery is back...ugh! I'm praying for us all to have a safe and speedy recovery.
Half of Bri 115 Posted December 7, 2015 How is everyone who had surgery this week doing? I was sleeved 12/2- other than gas pains that make getting my Protein in difficult, I'm doing well. Surgery went great and honestly wasn't too bad compared to my c-section. I was actually relieved with how I felt and have only taken my pain Meds while in the hospital. samcl1 52 Posted December 7, 2015 Dec 15 for me. Have had some bumps in the road pushing my date back ( new grand baby on the other side of the country was a good bump) . I'm doing the liver shrinking diet right now. Counting down the days. Nervous. Where are you having yours done. Mine is in Seattle. Good luck to you!

Gingerkid75 3 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) I'm Dec 10. I've never had surgery, what level of pain is considered average. (1 none 10 go to e.r.) Any tips or trick on showing, driving, putting on socks. Thanks Edited December 7, 2015 by Gingerkid75
samcl1 52 Posted December 7, 2015 0 is none, 10 is curling up in a ball crying.....the worst pain you can imagine. I'm a nurse and it just kills me when people are chatting on their phones or with visitors and they say their pain is a 10....no its not. If it's uncomfortable enough to need pain med but you can function 3-5 is a good answer. If you can't move well it's a 6 or so. If you feel like your abdomen is split open it may be a 10. Everyone is different in how they feel and handle pain. I prefer the "a little, a lot, a hell of a lot" scale...but that's just me
ShrinkingButtercup 60 Posted December 7, 2015 Good luck to all those who've had recent surgery and those coming up soon! I'm still waiting on my insurance approval for surgery next week. I'm nervous and scared but excited. If it all works out, I'll be joining Team Post-Op next week. Curious: Anyone else's post op diet skip liquids and goes right to pureed like mine? It's liquids for the overnight or so in the hospital and purees at home.
DeezJeanz 1,065 Posted December 7, 2015 Hello my Dec pals. I just got home from the revision. It wasn't bad but the gas was/is unreal. It's like carrying knives inside me juggling around. They took out drain, almost fainted, horrible feeling unraveling out of my belly. I continue to pray 4 the rest of you and upcoming and those of us who's done. Glad it's over:)
ShrinkingButtercup 60 Posted December 7, 2015 I spoke too soon. Insurance approval came down today! This is getting real.
tappingmom 85 Posted December 7, 2015 @@DeezJeanz - glad to hear your home! @ - yay on the insurance approval! As for post-op, I'm on Clear Liquids until my first followup with the surgeon a week later. Then it's full liquids for 3 days, then purees. I'm almost done with day 6 of this lovely pre-op liquid diet. It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. The hard part this week is getting all my work done so I can actually be out of the office for 3 weeks.
