Good morning,

Just wondering about other people's experience with the powders? utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein. I ordered some of this as I've been struggling to find a protein that I can actually tolerate. It's all sooooo very nasty to me, but I know that I need it especially since I am still not getting in enough protein food wise. What has your experience been with it? Do you like it? Dislike it? Or do you know a good protein that will work?

I use unjury - and like it. I mix it with Almond Milk, ice cubes, PB2 and a banana. I like both the vanilla and the chocolate. I also have the Soup - which reminds me of Ramen broth - but you can't heat it too hot or the Protein will get sticky.

I ordered the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavors. I'm only three weeks out and so far all of them have been way too sweet for me. Nauseatingly sweet. I had a sample of the unflavored that I mixed with my milk today and so far it's been good. I can't taste it at all.

I am a huge fan of the Unjury, but I cannot stand the strawberry flavor. The chocolate splendor is my go-to and the unflavored is excellent in things like sf pudding, broth, etc.

I could not for the life of me figure out why they had a chicken soup flavored one. Lol. I ordered the sample pack so that I could try it and see how I like it... Because I've got to find one that is tolerable. Does it get very frothy?

I heat my Water and bring it to the 130-135 degrees. Then I stir in the chicken soup Protein powder. It doesn't get frothy at all. Maybe because I stir it and don't shake it.

Do the other's froth? That's a major problem for me.

I have all the flavors of unjury and have found them to be great.

They mix very thin with Water and ice and go down very easy.

I enjoy the chicken Soup flavor. It's a nice change of pace. I use a Pyrex measuring cup, put 1/3 cup Water in it and not the microwave for a minute or two and then add 2/3 cup hot tap water to make a full cup. One scoop of powder stirs in easily (so long as you don't go over 160 degrees with the water.....hotter than that and it clumps up badly).

It's not something I'd want daily but the soup is a nice change and the flavor is good to me.

I really like it. It's all I use. I add lots of different things to make the taste and smell barely even noticeable. My favorite is Decaf instant coffee and unsweetened cocoa with skim milk and vanilla Unjury.

I like the injury chocolate splendor and vanilla Protein powders in smoothies with unsweetened almond milk, ice, blueberries, and a few frozen banana slices. I even made a batch of homemade Protein Bars with the chocolate splendor this week.

The chicken Soup flavor is my least favorite flavor. I am still working my way through the container and add a half scoop to soup - being careful not to make it too hot.

I also drink the Premier Protein chocolate shakes for the convience when I am on the go.

So... I got my powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury yesterday. Having the chocolate splendor this morning in skim milk... and I must say this is by far the best one I've tried... Sheesh it took a LONG time to find one that wasn't thick and gross to me but I think I've found a brand I can stick with. Now to try all of the flavors. I'm not a fan of vanilla at all so I'll have to definitely mix that with something else but chocolate splendor, so far so good. Thank you all for the feed back. It's much appreciated.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
