EastTexasMom 4 Posted October 21, 2015 Good afternoon. I have a question. My wedding ring, that I have been wearing for 18 years now and is super lose on me, has started turning my finger a dark color. It washes off but I have just this week started noticing it. My wedding ring is gold and I also wear a silver ring on my other hand and it does not turn my finger dark. Is this associated with my WLS? My surgery was 9/18/15. I appreciate any help on what this could be. I just don't want to miss a sign (if this is one) of an issue.
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted October 21, 2015 Could it just be dirt from spinning around your finger since it's loose?
EastTexasMom 4 Posted October 21, 2015 I don't think so but will have my ring cleaned tonight. It is just weird!!!!
reree6898 1,164 Posted October 21, 2015 (edited) I wonder if it may be due to the change in hormones as weight is being dropped. The hormone flux could throw off your body chemistry I would think and cause a reaction to gold. Edited October 21, 2015 by reree6898
