ANewMe83 21 Posted October 21, 2015 How are you all dealing with Constipation? I'll be 3 mos. out next week and still having problems with this.
Ashlegal 525 Posted October 21, 2015 I'm sorry. I haven't suffered any constipation; I am six weeks post-op and even taking daily meds that contribute to bowl problems, I don't suffer. I have heard a million different ideas from posters on here and another forum I frequent. Many have their own "regiment" of stool softeners, Miralax, tea, juice, Fiber supplements and making sure you are getting PLENTY of fluids.
The Candidate 3,215 Posted October 21, 2015 Once I began taking a stool softener daily, I've had no issues.

SookieLei 47 Posted October 22, 2015 I did the hcg diet like 5 years ago, I suffered from it then. I used Smooth Move tea and it always worked like a charm.

Daisee68 2,493 Posted October 25, 2015 Senokot-S and Colace. This is the only thing (aside from prescription med) that has helped me. Colace alone wasn't doing the trick. Added 1 Senokot-S per day and it is much better.
labre0813 3 Posted November 18, 2015 I am 2 weeks post-op and having major Constipation. I've tried colace 2x per day and benefiber 1x per day. This is horrible and very painful. Today I drank some Decaf coffee mixed with unflavored Protein and 1 prep h and in a few hours I had some relief. Any other suggestions?
kempermorris 144 Posted November 18, 2015 It took an entire month for my Constipation to pass. The only thing that helped me was Glycerin Suppositories. You're right. It is painful & it was the worst side effect of my surgery. The good news is it will pass in a month or so & your body will readjust. Hang in there. Keep taking Miralax & Colace. Hang in there. It gets better
Daisee68 2,493 Posted November 19, 2015 I found the benefiber made mine worse.

I used probiotic, stool softener pills, magnesium milk daily and still is a problem. Today I need to use suppositories and that help. Tomorrow I'm going for diet advancement to phase 2 purée food. I hope the new diet will help me to be more regularly.
