I've never been able to wear heels. They've always caused me so much pain and I'm terrified of rolling my ankles. That crap hurts, man.

Was anyone better off wearing heals after weight loss? I weigh 343 pounds and am 5'11".

:P

The first time I lost weight I started wearing heels, they were more comfortable and I didn't feel like I was going to fall, not something I could do at all when I was at my heaviest. I still wear them even after gaining 50 lbs back probably because I am used to wearing them now. I do have a comfortable heel height of 3.5 inches, anything above that is too high for me.

I wore them before I lost (I am 5'10" and was not much different than you in weight). But I hade to go no higher than 3 1/2" and yet couldn't be too low (kitten heels were worse and made me feel very unstable!) I cannot wait for the opportunity to wear these soon. (I had a stress fracture in my right heel for the past 6 months so I haven't been allowed to wear heels for that reason.) I did wear some 4" wedges the other day and did feel much more comfortable than I have before. In fact, I wore them all day at work without ever having to slip them off under my desk. Of course, I don't walk much for my job so maybe that makes a difference. I am looking forward to buying high heel boots without wide calf for this winter!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
