KristenVSG2014 1,872 Posted October 20, 2015 I'm not a bypass patient but eating yucca would be like eating mashed potatoes. They are pretty starchy with little to no Protein. What do your post-op instructions say about potatoes?
Spiceyfrog 269 Posted October 22, 2015 I did not know what Yucca was, so thank you to the previous poster! Potatoes are not a great source of Protein, but they were a favorite "go-to" of mine when I was in that stage. It was one of the few things I could get when my family and I went out to eat. So, I would say short term to help you get through the stages yes, but not long term just because there have little to no nutritional value.
StanCounty29 70 Posted April 25, 2016 I ???? yucca. I won't eat a whole lot of it. But I do have it. With bacalao. Or I even have the yucca thai drinks. Sent from my SGH-M919N using the BariatricPal App
NewAngela 60 Posted April 26, 2016 My nut said I could eat mashed potatoes while advancing my diet. I definitely had some starchy things during the mushy phase, but the quantities were not very large. I mainly has either sweet or regular potatoes mashed. Now I am trying to limit carbs. High Protein foods really help control my awakening appetite better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
