GeorgiaGirl 0 Posted July 16, 2007 I was banded on Friday, July 13th. I stayed in the hospital overnight and was released the next morning. My ride home was 1 1/2 hrs. Just make sure you bring a pillow to put over your stomach for the ride home. I think my mom hit every hole between the hospital and home that day. I promise if I was okay then so will you. The pillow really helps.
kathyk941 0 Posted July 17, 2007 I'm having my surgery on the 18th also. I just have this sureal feeling like - am I really doing this? I'm also a bit scared about surgery in general. Knowing there are other folks like yourself out there helps give me courage.
TENGAL 0 Posted July 17, 2007 I'm having my surgery on the 18th also. I just have this sureal feeling like - am I really doing this? I'm also a bit scared about surgery in general. Knowing there are other folks like yourself out there helps give me courage. I, too, am still almost disbelieving that I am doing this. For one thing, when I first mentioned this type surgery to my GP, he almost laughed saying that I was not overweight enough (75 lbs.) for any insurance company to agree to it. I fooled him! Anyway, I am a little scared. I have to travel an hour each way for the surgery. Being that far away is what bothers me the most right now. Stay in touch! sniggle 0 Posted July 17, 2007 I am scheduled to be banded Aug. 14th - 4 hour ride from my home. Our plan is to go down early in the a.m. for the surgery and spend the night down there after release - then make the trek back home the next day. I just figured the 4 hour ride right after would almost kill me and given the long day we will have had that morning - its just best. A
