I was banded on Friday, July 13th. I stayed in the hospital overnight and was released the next morning. My ride home was 1 1/2 hrs. Just make sure you bring a pillow to put over your stomach for the ride home. I think my mom hit every hole between the hospital and home that day. I promise if I was okay then so will you. The pillow really helps.

I'm having my surgery on the 18th also. I just have this sureal feeling like - am I really doing this? I'm also a bit scared about surgery in general. Knowing there are other folks like yourself out there helps give me courage.

I, too, am still almost disbelieving that I am doing this. For one thing, when I first mentioned this type surgery to my GP, he almost laughed saying that I was not overweight enough (75 lbs.) for any insurance company to agree to it. I fooled him! Anyway, I am a little scared. I have to travel an hour each way for the surgery. Being that far away is what bothers me the most right now. Stay in touch!

I am scheduled to be banded Aug. 14th - 4 hour ride from my home. Our plan is to go down early in the a.m. for the surgery and spend the night down there after release - then make the trek back home the next day. I just figured the 4 hour ride right after would almost kill me and given the long day we will have had that morning - its just best. A

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
