Etiquette of posting in "[opposite sex] Only" forum?

Recommended Posts

Yes, I meant 'not'...

And I've amended my post to reflect such...

Apologies...

And as far as me being "not so bad after all"...

Correct!!

Sometimes the discussion is such that it really is more neutral. No one can stop you from lurking. That's the price we pay. I think you asked nicely (thank you very much) and the guy who started the thread should respond.

I'd been back there to add a note saying I'd leave of my own accord and wish everyone well. The next note was from the originator. Without saying it in so many words, he made it known that he'd prefer my absence. Ships in the night.

It's asked that men not post in female only topics (they are for women only) and females are not to post in male only topics. There have been sensitive bunnies (cough cough men)in the past unfortunately, so that's the way it is!

We do have a forum for both men and women to share more delicate topics here:

I'll admit, half the time don't see the designation until I've already opened my fat trap and typed up a response and hit post. I try to be mindful if it's a Guys only thread. Unless both start posting. And it gets fun. Then all bets are off ;)

I've sometimes unknowingly stumbled on a female-only thread (they show up in the trending topics list sometimes with no designation they are women-only). I've found often these end up discussing very female-oriented topics that I am certain females would not want me responding to (and might be less inclined to discuss in a mixed forum).

There have been times I have been sorely tempted, such as when I see guy-bashing or stereotypes of male behavior. But I have decided women have a right to have a place they can vent with other ladies and not expect men to butt in on their conversations.

So I kinda expect women to have the same consideration for men. Maybe a guy has a topic where he wants just male responses, or is very specific to men. Women should respect that need, and not post on those topics.

Posting accidentally is fine, and most people will really be cool about it. But I do think it is a breach of etiquette to do this intentionally or frequently.

Now, as for reading them, just remember all topics are readable by anyone.

Speaking of the girls and boys, folks, I hope you've noticed that I didn't want to know about a particular word from the all-boys' topic, believing that it means something ugly. I also hope you've noticed that @@OKCPirate showed the courtesy of asking the originator of the topic to decide on my presence. Notice also, please, that he does not extend that courtesy to me, evidenced by his mounting it in a post in this topic, one which I originated.

What say? Pirate must walk the plank? He's thick as a plank?

Oh, all right, I looked. My expectation was misplaced. It isn't an ugly, demeaning or otherwise irksome description. It's just dumb. I can live with that.

But this doesn't mitigate Pirate's inconsiderateness and disobedience.

That's a lot of attention being unleashed upon @@OKCPirate there @@WLSResources/ClothingExch

Do you think maybe that's because you loooove him?

Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Loversssss

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
