How long does it take you to drink

Recommended Posts

How far out from surgery are you? Earlier its harder, but it gets better. At almost 6 months I can drink about 8 oz over 15 minutes.

I carry a 32oz bottle with me everywhere. During my work day I make sure to finish it, sipping periodically throughout the day, then drink some more at home before/after dinner.

I don't quiet get 64oz daily, but I'm close. Works for me.

You're doing great at an hour and a half. I bring a 32 ounce cup of tea to work and it takes me the entire work day to drink it. That of course includes stops for a snack and lunch.

At two weeks, it was taking me that long too, if not longer. Now at four weeks I can sometimes finish one in 45 min. It will get better with time!

I cannot answer this question as drinking has become and unconscious activity. It's just something I do. I fact, I have to measure my liquids as I go through the day, I dispense 16oz at a time, when empty I log it. But there are shakes, coffee in fact just about everything I eat is a liquid at this point. I got through a 34 oz Water bottle in 2.5 hours during school last night (and that was while trying to get caught up in Statistics), however I drank the same bottle in about an hour earlier in the day. My NUT is getting miffed as she said I am taking in too much liquid.< /p>

A really long time! I sip on 20oz bottle all day. I also do a Protein Shake for liquids... I need to increase my Water but it is hard!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
