starting moist foods

Recommended Posts

Hello all

I have a question of course.

So I got my surgery on Sept 14th 2015 I am starting moist foods today but I wanna say I have been eating some foods that were not pureed last week I would just chew really good. I am assuming tha is fine. my doc said if it sits ok then dont worry about it. I weighed in on day of surgery at 221lbs and am at 203lbs I am stalling right now and I have stalled before also. I think I am eating ok but sometimes I break my head over it and my friends say not to worry your not always going to eat perfect. could you give me ideas of cheap meals. I have ate chicken chicken i need new ways to make it. I also had buffalo wild wings plain wings with a little salt and vinger and ranch 2 wings for example. HELP

I was pretty boring, but my main food sources during this stage were scrambled eggs, tuna salad and chili. I bought 2 ounce condiment cups with lids and would divide the can of chili or batch of tuna salad up so I could easily pull them out of the fridge and eat without too much work. Don't worry, you will eventually get the variety of foods back in your diet. Keep up the great work!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
