I haven't lost any hair. Weird?

Recommended Posts

I think it varies from person to person. Mine didn't start until about month six. It just recently stopped and I am 16 months post op.

Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones.

I will say losing the hair was so worth the weight loss and a new lease on life!!

Mine didn't start until closer to 4 months out. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones but no you aren't too far out to worry about it. Sorry.

I never lost any hair. I'll be2 years out next month. I have really thick hair so maybe I didn't notice but it has continued to grow like usual. I think we may be the exception.

My hair is so thick! I've been purposely not having my stylist thin it out but I'm losing patience. I don't want to have her thin it out AND THEN lose a bunch more. I'll wait a couple more months just to be sure.

Mine has just started to fall out and I am 5 months out. So far it's not too bad.

Do you keep it short? Have you had to cut any special way? I lost a bunch of hair after all of my pregnancies, but my hair was much short then.

I have kept it long. The thing that is worse than it falling out is that it is dried out and looks frizzy. I just get the ends trimmed but I am like you and have very thick hair si it is not too noticeable yet...

I'm closing in on three months and haven't lost any yet. Hope the trend continues.

I'm nine months post-op, and I never lost hair either. I took crazy amounts of Biotin starting right after surgery, so my hair actually became thicker rather than thinner. I was extremely anxious about Hair loss, and it turns out to have been a non-issue for me.

from what I've heard/read, it usually starts falling out at 3 or 4 months out, but it can start as late as six months. I'm quickly approaching five months (with no loss so far) and am cautiously optimistic, but I won't rest easy until I hit the six-month mark.

I started losing about 4 months. My hair has thinned drastically. I can see, but I don't know that anyone else notices it. I cut it way shorter. I'm taking a lot of Biotin and making sure my Protein intake is high to help prevent it from thinning further. It is growing like crazy, but still losing at 6 months. It has slowed quite a bit.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
