Dar200 285 Posted October 21, 2015 Hi! I recall a video I saw about a month ago online featuring a 65 year-old Vet who had bariatric surgery and was very successful at losing weight. I've been searching everywhere for it. Haven't located it yet, but did a Google search on "bariatric surgery veteran" and it pulled up U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on the topic of bariatric surgery. It lists out the requirements for qualifying for the surgery. I will keep trying to find the video of the gentleman who had bariatric surgery and did so well. Good luck! cookarue 233 Posted October 22, 2015 I recommend going to a different doctor. I'm living on base now, they do it at the hospital on base, and my doctor only told me to try and lose weight and if iv couldn't she'd refer me to the surgeon. Anyway, I got my surgery date for the 29th of December. I think your doctor is just being difficult. TriCare covers it
