My bariatric surgery was September 28, 2015, which was three weeks ago. I really get worn out easily. If I go somewhere I have to come home and rest. Is this normal. I have lost 26 pounds so far. Thanks for your wisdom on this.

Yep. Normal.

Think about what you have been through.

You have been sedated, poked, prodded, cut, rearranged and sewn up

Then your calorie, carb, caffeine and general food intake has been substantially decreased.

It gets better. Everyday it gets better. Right now you should focus on listening to your body, getting plenty of rest and fluids.

Some people feel lethargic weeks into months after surgery. Others don't. Nothing wrong with either feeling. Just be patient with the journey and stay hydrated. Congrats in the weight loss!

Definitely normal. I didn't see much improvement in stamina until about six to eight weeks out. I'm heading into my twelfth week and I pretty much feel back to normal now.

Hang in there. You'll start to see some improvement too soon!

@@melps My surgery was a week before yours and I'm in the same boat. My surgeon said to expect to feel pretty fatigued until about six weeks out or so, due both to healing from the surgery and the rapid weight loss we're experiencing. Congrats on your weight loss! You're off to a great start!

Definately normal at this stage. It will get better!

I think it was the 8th week for me before I felt like myself again. I remember this because we went to Las Vegas for 10 days and I felt like a whole new person.

My family literally could not keep up with me for a change. I walked over 8 miles a day and came back losing 10lbs on that trip. The weird thing was I was on soft foods at that stage just about to be released to regular foods.

It is such a relief to hear from you all. I actually took a nap and I have been a non-sleeper since birth. I cannot wait to feel normal again!

@@Djmohr how did you manage soft foods while eating out x 10 days?

I lived on cottage cheese, Protein shakes, yogurt, string cheese and string cheese. At dinner I would order salmon, eat 2 or 3 bites and my son would eat the rest. I was not at the stage where I could eat salad or vegetables unless they were cooked mushy which is rare to actually get that when you order it.

My loved it because he would order a big juicy steak and have my leftover fish and call it surf and turf.

I also had a fridge in our hotel room where I kept my premier Protein Shakes and string cheese.

I will say it was near impossible to keep up on Water for me. I had not yet carried my own personal water bottle every where I went. I would definately carry mine with me now and I do.

I had my surgery the same day as you and I am battling exhaustion as well. Hopefully within a few more weeks and we will be over this hump.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
