For the ladies....Was your cycle messed up after surgery?

Recommended Posts

Yes. It didn't regulate again for about a year.

Yes! It stopped completely when I had Lapband removal surgery in Oct 2014.

I had missed one period in 2014 and thought that I might be in the beginnings of menopause. I had my period the week I had my Lapband removed... and haven't had one since. I thought the Sleeve might make some hormones kick in... but nope, haven't even spotted in one year. I am so glad to be done with that mess, but think it is a little odd to be in full menopause at 48.

I also have PCOS, and started my period in the hospital, and it hasn't stopped for the last 6 weeks. ???????? I am going to the doctor tomorrow to make sure everything is okay. I was told by my surgeon that this is really common due to the amount of hormones stored in fat.

I was sleeved 9/21/15 and my cycle is all over the place. Anyone else have this problem?

Here are some problems a motorcycle could have which could cause it to be all over the place:

Tire pressure

“Cupped” or badly uneven tire wear (especially the rear tire)

See if a wheel lost a wheel weight

Remove both wheels

Check for bad bearings

Check trueness of axles

Check trueness of the wheels (primarily for spoke wheels)

Ohh, you meant MENSTRUAL cycle, not MOTOR cycle.

Nevermind, I'm outta here! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
