Nope. Mines exactly as it was before. I was thinking it would be all messed up but no.

I suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and rarely even had a cycle to begin with. Maybe three times a year if I was lucky. Now that I've lost weight, I'm noticing that things are starting to normalize for me.

I was a year into menopause and had a cycle after surgery. The flood of hormones into your system is a killer.

Thankfully nothing since.

I also have PCOS. I didn't have any periods before surgery (I also have Mirena IUD) but I had one right after surgery and I've ovulated every month since. Sometimes I ovulate twice a month. If I wanted to have a baby it wouldn't take long once I took the IUD out.

Hahahaahha, don't even get me started. I mean, I am already perimenopausal, so I get fairly random stuff anyway. However, the first period after surgery -- about a month after -- was like some sort of Biblical plague had been visited upon my house. GUSHING. And a clot the size of my palm. It turns out that this is a common thing: WLS + increased Iron = REALLY HEAVY PERIODS. Sometimes for six months or more in a row.

So, excitement! I'm hoping if it happens again, it at least won't be quite so bad.

I also have pcos. My periods are very painful and very heavy! I'm really missing my Advil. Any other suggestions?

Midol and heating pads.

I am 2 months out. I started the week following surgery which was about a week and a half early. The next two months have been like clockwork from that first pre-surgery one.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
