shriner37 249 Posted October 18, 2015 Hi and welcome to the forum. You'll find so much information here and so many folks ready to help that it is a great resource. That being said, the choice of procedure (sleeve or bypass) is one that should be made by you and your surgeon. Both are great procedures and provide excellent results. If you have already selected a surgeon or practice they should be able to help guide you through the selection process. If you haven't selected a surgeon or practice yet, I'd do my research locally. If there is one available, I'd be sure to check into those practices that are "Bariatric Centers of Excellence". These are practices and surgeons who specialize in the procedures and meet the criteria to qualify for this designation. Some insurance companies require that surgery be completed at a Center of Excellence before they will approve it. Good luck on your Quest.
