My wife is 10 months post op surgery and she has absolutely no energy, she is getting a Vitamin B12 shot every two weeks, all of her blood test came back great even though she is not taking any Vitamins, the only thing that was low was her Vitamin D, my theory is she is not eating enough Protein in a day, she normally eats nothing until dinner then dinner is next to nothing, she has lost 175 pounds from 353 to 181. Doing great in that scheme of things, light to no exercise. I'm guessing if she ate more during the day, did at least 15 mins of exercise and took a vitamin D pill it may help?? Any other suggestions? Thanks!!

Getting enough calories and Protein, as well as enough Water, are all extremely important. It's great that she's lost so much weight but it sounds like she may be hurting her body a little in the process. Also, going a long time without eating is TERRIBLE for you and for your metabolism. Make her take care of herself! :P

Yes, you are likely right that she is not getting enough at this point. By the way, not eating until dinner time is not following the plan and in the long run it will hurt her health. This messes up our metabolism that we worked so hard to correct.

She should be eating at least 3 meals a day, getting 1 gram of Protein for every inch she is tall and 48 to 64 ounces of Water.

Her meals should be balanced but Protein heavy.

I am shocked that her labs have come back normal given your description of how she has been eating. Have you personally seen her test results?

She needs a nutritionist now.

Good luck to you and if there is anything you need please feel free to reach out.

My prescribed Vitamin B 12 doesn't do anything my energy. But I'm pre op so hopefully that will change. That's a lot of weight to drop in 10 months too. I hope she feels better.

Low Vitamin D can cause low energy but certainly lack of food would as well. Why us she not eating all day until dinner? That is just a vicious cycle Thatcher have all lived thru and screws with metabolism not to mention health. Did she tell the Dr how much Protein she is (or in this case is not) getting? With that much loss that quick and little to no protein and no exercise, she is losing muscle mass and can eventually lead to her being much more weak and I'll than she realizes. Is she going to therapy? If not I strongly recommend seeing an eating disorder specialist.

She definitely needs to eat more not getting enough Protein is going to have issues after a while when I wasn't getting enough protein in the back of my legs went numb and I had some pretty major Vitamin deficiencies she needs to put calories and protein right away and speak to her doctor about these issues. A lack of B Vitamins can make one very very tired

Whenever she eats early in the morning she gets sick.... she is a nurse so by the time she gets to work she doesn't have time to eat lunch... so she is left waiting until she gets home to eat. She has a very hard time swallowing large pills and most Multivitamins are huge. All this adds to her vicious cycle of problems.... thanks so much for all of your responses! She is reading all of them and I'm sure we will figure something out with help of these comments.

Well if she is a nurse, she has to have some brains. She needs to use them. There are liquid Vitamins, Patches and chewable vitamins. I can not eat in the morning, but I drink a Protein shake. She can take a cheese stick and meat for lunch. She must of snacked at her nursing job when she was overweight. I am sure she must get a lunch. I think she is so eager to lose weight she is starving herself.

My brother had congestive heart failure and diabetes and weighed about 400 pounds. Now he is 140. He looks like he is 90 years old. He acts like he is 90. He was like your wife, he did not eat Breakfast, and only one meal a day. Well, 3 years post op he is so weak, he can not work on his car, he can not do home projects. He can not turn a wrench. He did it his way, he is skinny and too weak to do anything. He will not listen to anyone.

Your wife knows the consequences of not taking medicine or Vitamins. She saw the movies or read the material. She is choosing to self destruct. If she doesn't get enough Protein, her muscles (heart) and brain will suffer.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
