Would the Quest chips work with your salsa ?

I ate a lot of salsa just after surgery. I didn't get any guidance on seeds, so I just threw my regular salsa in the blender and puréed it just to be safe.

Quest chips are like Quest Protein bars... but chips. :) They are high Protein and no/low carb, and the longer you go without eating any actual tortilla chips the more they start to taste "normal". Personally, I couldn't live without them.

I make my own salsa. I cut the tomatoes and jalapeños and pull the seeds from them. I roast them for great flavor first! Yummy!!!

I also make my own salsa and it is very easy! I eat a lot of it. Just had some for dinner with cheese and cucumbers.

Can of whole tomatos

1/2 jalapeno (with seeds scraped out)

2 cloves garlic

1/2 onion

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp garlic salt

1 bunch cilantro (or I use dried cilantro and just dump some in - 1 to 2 tbsp. maybe)

Salt & pepper to taste

1 tbsp. (or so) of lime juice

Dump it all in a blender and liquefy. I don't like chunky salsa.

I taste and add what I think it needs - usually a tad more salt and/or more lime juice and/or cilantro. The recipe actually also calls for 1 tsp of sugar but I haven't been using that since surgery. honestly it probably wouldn't be a problem since it is such a small amount; I just chose not to.

Regular tortilla chips = big and fat, where you came from !!!! I can't stress that enough. Qwest chips ONLY, low fat cheese on occasion ONLY, NO FAT CHEESE more regularly, or they'll never quit calling you fat and the wonderful tool of By Pass will be wasted on you. THE TRUTH . I eat salsa ( any and all types daily ) with no problems.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
