ReneK 107 Posted October 16, 2015 I am about half way through my 90-day pre-op medically supervised program. I have been trying out different Protein supplements because I'll have a two-week pre-surgery liquid/protein drink only diet. I have gotten samples from several companies and have just been trying them out. I needed to find things that are not over-the-top expensive as well as some I can get locally in case I run out. And I think I have a plan. First, of the bunches of different things I've tried, my absolute favorite is opurity chicken Soup. Just plain YUM. (I hope I feel that way after surgery). I am also going to order Isopure whey isolate unflavored powder from Amazon. Finally, last night I bought SixStar whey Isolate Plus decadent chocolate locally. I mixed it this morning with a cup of unsweetened Almond Milk. It was actually very yummy (170 calories, 3g carbs, 31g protein, 4g fat). I am happy to have a plan! Even if my surgery gets delayed for some reason, I'm still going to use these protein supplements to start trying to lose some weight.
snickysnack78 131 Posted October 16, 2015 You can also try Quest Protein Bars if you are feeling the need to chew. They have 20-21g of Protein in each one and very low carb. Good luck on your journey and make sure if you buy Protein Powder, don't buy the big containers. For me, I cant handle the liquid post op
