Is this a stall already?

Recommended Posts

I am 2 weeks out today! I was 281 at my preop testing which was about 2.5 weeks before surgery, I'm 261 today. I lost around 13 lbs the first week after surgery, however the scale has not moved, well it went up a couple pounds, since Monday! Is it really possible to start as stall at 10 days post op? Am I doomed, it's not like anything else I've ever done has worked, maybe this just won't either!? I'm only 5 feet tall so for my weight I really would have thought I'd get a little more out of this than 13 lbs.

Take a deep breath. You are not even close to done losing.

Believe it or not you are really not in control of how fast or how slow you will lose the weight that it probably took years to put on. Your body has been through a lot of trauma in the last several weeks and it requires time to regroup and move forward.

Weight fluctuates from day to day and week to week. It will come off if you follow the food plan. I promise!

Take it from someone who has weathered many stalls, if your weight fluctuations bring you down, you will need to stay off the scale. I am a daily weigher but I have had to learn to only use that number as a barometer to help me stay on track. I also use the way I feel, the way my clothes fit and a tape measure.

Also I would not even consider no weight loss a stall until I have not lost anything in 2 weeks.

If you want more info about stalls, use the search tool and you will find many posts on the subject.

For now, you are doing great! Give yourself and your body a break. You need time to heal both mind and body.

Good luck to you!

What you are experiencing is a very normal, necessary, and natural part of the process. We all experience stalls, especially about three weeks after surgery. This will not be your last stall.

Embrace the Stall!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
