losing100# 30 Posted October 15, 2015 I am having surgery on 11/17 and we are supposed to be driving to our relatives 6 hours away for Thanksgiving on the 25th. Has anyone traveled after a week post-op? Am I pushing it, or do you think I will be fine? I plan on asking my Dr. at my appointment next week, but thought I would see if anyone else has traveled and was fine.
Cycle4life 17 Posted October 15, 2015 Hello, you should be fine. Just make sure you make stops along the way to walk and not gas up so much:) I had the lapband and was up and walking and driving after a week. I had cabin fever, just listen to your body. Hoping the best for you and recovery. I am flying to Mexico for my revision and will be there 5 days. Traveling from East to West Coast. I have read for me to get up every 45 minutes to walk. heather5565 959 Posted October 15, 2015 I had surgery in Quebec Canada but live in British Columbia Canada; it was a 6-7 hour flight home. It was fine for the most part. Just get out of the car more often then you normally would to walk around a bit.

tcrehm 101 Posted October 16, 2015 For me sitting up straight or semi-straight was not too good for a few weeks after surgery. It will help if your car seat can lean back some.
