tcrehm 101 Posted October 15, 2015 So I have lost almost 40 lbs with pre-surgery diet and post surgery. I've noticed (as did my 26 year old son who usually notices nothing so it must be fairly noticeable) that the back of my hands look very wrinkled and old. Is this due to weight loss in my hands and will it stay this way or eventually go back to not as wrinkly?
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted October 15, 2015 I would suggest moisturizing daily. Not just your hands, but all over. It can help some, but there is no guaranteed to stave off loose skin on any part of your body.
Elode 8,093 Posted October 15, 2015 Humm I don't know I've lost 110 lbs and I don't think my hands are wrinkled. Maybe it has to do with age? I don't know your age but I'm 34. My hands actually look big in this picture but I wear a size 5 1/2 ring now, was a 9!
reree6898 1,164 Posted October 15, 2015 Are you getting in enough Water? When people start getting dehydrated often the skin on their hands will get a bit loose.
Mom26 313 Posted October 15, 2015 I would also suggest moisturizer. It can go a long way to keep your skin healthy!
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted October 15, 2015 I agree with others, hydration inside (water) and out (moisturizing) should take care of that. I'm 52 and my hands don't look wrinkly at all.
tcrehm 101 Posted October 15, 2015 I've been drinking my Water 64 oz a day and moisturizing. I'm only 52 years young. But I live in Illinois and have been in Florida since Friday so maybe I just need more fluids in Florida 90f temps than in Illinois. Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Elode 8,093 Posted October 15, 2015 @@tcrehm lol! Hand goals! You just need to plump them back up with fluid! I never notice anyone's handy unless they're missing fingers or dirty!
