helladoll 14 Posted October 15, 2015 I'm 1 week post op today. My NUT said it was a big deal for me to avoid extreme temperature liquids during this time, but all I can keep down is piping hot Soup or freezing cold ice Water. Anything room temp or Luke warm makes me hurl. Thoughts?
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted October 15, 2015 As long as it's not scalding hot drink it. You can benefit from food you can't keep down.
peaceout 273 Posted October 15, 2015 I know everyone has different reasoning, my surgeon said to avoid temperature extremes only because they are harder for the sleeve to tolerate in the early days, and some people get nauseated and/or vomit. If you're not having those problems, I don't think it's going to hurt you to drink hot Soup or cold Water. I, too, needed my Water to be ice cold if I wanted a chance of keeping it down during weeks 1 and 2.
thisfathasgot2go 235 Posted October 15, 2015 I have not heard of this. I have been drinking/sipping/eating all temps, but nothing burning hot.
