Labs are back ... PatchMD seems to be working

Recommended Posts

I promised to post and let the other PatchMD Vitamin Patch users know how my labs came out. They are right on themoney other than my Vitamin D being a little low. I see the Endocronologist on Friday and I'm sure she will advise me on what additional supplements I need to add to my daily routine. I am so glad they are getting the job done !!!

I purchased the Multivitamin patch last week and put on my first one this morning. So I am going to put them to the test.

Thanks for your update.

I'll stay away from cheap jokes like, "No memory loss that I remember..."

Good to know! I've been using the patch on most days for a month now. I go for my labs in mid November. It's so much easier to put on the sticker than chew up those awful Vitamins.

I've had a lot of hair loss, but no memory loss. Well, I don't attribute my poor memory to the surgery. I attribute it to 3 kids, full time job, and being over 30. :)

I havent heard of the Patches. Where do you get them and how much do they cost? Does insurance cover them? Do you need a prescription? Is it just for the Multivitamin?

PATCHMD.com will explain it all. I also recommend doing your own research. For me, they are super convenient and one less thing I have to worry about.

I've ordered some to test, because I'm having the "all my chewable multis make me gag" experience this month.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
